DISNEY musical Into The Woods is the latest movie to be screened at Glusburn Institute.

The dark fairytale, with songs by Stephen Sondheim, will be shown on Friday, April 7, at 7pm.

Into The Woods, released in 2014, features an ensemble cast including Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine and Tracey Ullman.

The story brings together the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel.

A childless couple set out to end a curse placed on and realising everyone has to rectify along the way, the characters are forced to rectify the consequences of their actions.

Filmed entirely in the UK, Into the Woods commercially successful and received positive reviews for its acting performances production merits.

But it was criticised for its lighter tone compared to the Broadway source material, and the changes made for the translation to film.

The film received three Academy Award nominations including a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Meryl Streep.
