WORTH Valley Young Farmers have the gift of the gab.

Several members enjoyed success at the organisation's northern area public speaking final in York.

Beth Cook, Ella Bunton and Nathan Greenwood were all placed in the senior after-dinner speaking contest and Kirsten Kitson was third in the junior vote of thanks section.

Beth and Ella went on to compete in the national eliminator round, finishing third and just missing out on the national finals.

It's been a busy period for the club.

Members have visited Stray FM, staged a dog agility session and organised a trip to Keighley's Star Centre.

They have also held a mini rally in preparation for a district YFC event next month and competed in a county ten-pin bowling contest.

And a contingent – including recently-joined juniors – took part in the County Stockman of the Year competition, which involves judging cattle, sheep and pigs and completing an animal health quiz.

Nathan Greenwood and Josh Lawn were both placed.
