MATHEMATICIANS from Parkside School have added to last year’s results in a competition at Bradford Grammar School.

The quartet, Matthew Keighley, Rhea Hardaker, Sam Srudwick and Bradley Wass, took part in the regional finals of the team maths event.

Will Voller, the maths teacher at the school in Cullingworth, said the team faced stiff competition.

He said: “Armed only with a pen and paper, they battled hard to claw their way up two places from last year to a plucky 25th out of 30.

“All four team members showed outstanding character, teamwork and resilience throughout the day and the entire school should be inspired by their efforts.”

The Parkside maths department ran a Multiple of Four day at the end of last term to mark the date 8.12.16..

Students played an interactive game during form time to see who could create the longest chain of multiples and factors.

Students baked cakes and buns which raised about £70 for student rewards. Ellis Bates in year eight baked a cake that included numbers and a calculator.
