FARSLEY CELTIC go in search of the first part of a league and cup double when they meet Tadcaster Albion in the West Riding County FA Cup final tonight.

The Celts can boast a healthy advantage over their Evo-Stik League Division One North counterparts in terms of league football but the Brewers have drawn home advantage for the cup showpiece.

The fact that Farsley are league leaders while Tadcaster are a lowly 16th will count for nothing at the i2i Stadium.

Yet the Brewers will have to register their first victory this month if they are to lift the trophy as they had drawn two games before Saturday's 4-1 defeat at promotion-chasing Colne.

Farsley go into the game on the back of a four-goal victory as they stayed at the summit by romping to a home win and clean sheet over Radcliffe Borough at the weekend.

The Celts have taken some notable scalps to reach the final after beating holders Bradford Park Avenue in the semi-finals and National League outfit Guiseley in the last eight.

Tadcaster booked their place with a 2-1 win at Farsley's neighbours Brighouse Town, another team much higher than them in the league.

Elsewhere, THACKLEY are back in Toolstation Northern Counties East League action having a blank Saturday. The Dennyboys host Wayne Benn's Hemsworth MW as fifth take on tenth in the Premier Division.

Former Avenue midfielder and club captain Benn saw his current side take a point from a 1-1 draw at AFC Mansfield at the weekend. Another draw tonight would see Thackley reach the 70-point mark but they will be looking for much more.

SILSDEN face a tough away game in the Hallmark Security League as they head to fourth-placed Widnes in Division One.

The 11th-placed Cobbydalers are on a run of three consecutive victories but they face a Widnes side just two points off the summit with a game in hand on leaders City of Liverpool.

It is very tight at the top and tonight's host still have hopes of landing one of the two automatic promotion spots.

Both Silsden and Widnes have six games remaining and the home side look set for at least a play-off place as they have a 13-point cushion on the clubs just outside the top six.
