OAKWORTH volunteers have been perking up their park again.
The Friends of Holden Park were joined by fellow residents and staff of the Oakworth Co-op to plant a large number of perennial plants.
The flowers, planted as part of the village’s Perk Up Your Park initiative, were funded by Keighley Town Council.
The volunteers also finished repainting the youth shelter.
Town councillor Luke Maunsell said: “It’s fantastic when local people and local businesses can work together to achieve such a positive result.”
Community development worker Pip Gibson said she was pleased with the turnout and wanted to thank Oakworth Co-op for providing refreshments and getting stuck in with the painting.
Oakworth Co-op manageress Mariyam Siddique said: “Supporting local community projects is what Co-op is all about and we want to help do this in any way we can. It’s fun for us and we get a chance to make a difference in people’s lives.”
