PUPILS and staff at Haworth Primary School celebrated Easter with a concert in the village.

The school staged two performances in Haworth Parish Church during the afternoon and evening of April 6.

Haworth Primary head teacher Helen Thompson said: "The 'Here Comes Jesus' concert was led by our year three class with all the key stage two children supporting with the singing.

"The choir and recorder groups also took part, and we were incredibly proud of the confident performances from our children.

"We had a good turn out of families – the church was filled for both showings – and the children from key stage one also came to watch the concert in the afternoon.

"The choir and recorders were led by Helen Woodthorpe and accompanied by David Root.

"Our year three children led the drama, with several taking solo parts. Class teacher Zoe Cowen co-ordinated the drama.

"Our cover supervisors supported with the costumes, sound and lighting. We're incredibly grateful to our site manager Kostas Nikolaidis and to Steve Thorpe who took the stage, sound and lighting equipment to the church, really helping to bring the concert to life.

"The concerts are a credit to our staff team with the whole school community coming together for a wonderful end of term celebration and to share the true meaning of Easter."
