A KEIGHLEY law firm is preparing to tee off for charity.

AWB Charlesworth Solicitors is staging its fourth annual charity golf day.

The event, held in conjunction with Pearson and Associates Accountants, raises funds for Martin House children’s hospice at Boston Spa.

Businesses are being urged to get behind the venture, which this year takes place at Bradford Golf Club on July 21.

About 18 teams are expected to take part in the event, which – after something to eat – will begin with a ‘shotgun start’ at lunchtime.

Following an 18-hole round, participants will return to the clubhouse for a three-course evening meal.

There will also be a raffle and entertainment.

Organisers hope to beat the £2,000-plus coined-in last year.

“Many teams from last year have already booked places – with some fresh new talent as well to bolster the competition!” said Declan Hayes, marketing and corporate social responsibility partner at AWB Charlesworth.

“We are grateful for the support already shown from local businesses, with fantastic raffle prizes generously donated.

“And we hope local businesses will continue to support this annual event through entering a team, donating prizes or taking advertising space in the event brochure.

“It is wonderful to see our golf event gain momentum and we are keen to make this year’s bigger and better than ever before.

“We’re raising money for a wonderful charity which AWB Charlesworth has supported for many years and will continue to do so.”

Paul Mason, director of Pearson & Associates, said: “This event every year has a special place in our hearts.”
