A LIONS stalwart has received a coveted award – from his wife!
District governor elect Michael Boldero has been presented with the Melvin Jones Fellowship in recognition of over 30 years’ service to the organisation.
The presentation was made by his wife Carole, the Keighley Lions president, at the club’s 63rd charter dinner.
“The award was a complete surprise for Michael – he was left speechless,” said club spokesman David Ogden.
During the past few months, the club has donated new clothes to several charitable causes in the area.
Beneficiaries have included the Salvation Army, Friends of Bradford Royal Infirmary, Keighley Women’s Refuge, Oakworth Road and Shipley family centres and the Clock House Project.
