A DISTRICT MP has demanded to know what bills will be pushed through Parliament and which will be abandoned before the General Election.
Philip Davies, whose Shipley constituency includes Cullingworth and Denholme, made the call during Business Questions in the Commons.
Parliament will be dissolved on Tuesday, May 2, ahead of the June 8 election.
Mr Davies said: "I take the responsibility of passing legislation very seriously and have always said I will scrutinise thoroughly, as I think laws should not be made for the sake of it.
"I do not agree with pushing laws through without proper scrutiny."
He asked Commons leader David Lidington whether the Prisons and Courts Bill, to which he had tabled amendments, would be dropped.
Mr Lidington confirmed it would not proceed.
