THE town mayor of Keighley put forward an idea which he said could help interest more young people in the work of Keighley Town Council.
Speaking at the council's latest meeting yesterday evening, (April 20) Cllr Shabir Ahmed said he would like the council to consider setting up a youth mayor scheme.
He added that he was inspired by an existing such scheme which operates in Rochdale, adding that he had met Rochdale's youth mayor during a recent civic visit to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
