A CAMPAIGN designed to help ensure young children get a good night's sleep is being backed by Bradford Council at different locations in Keighley district.

The council is supporting the Booktrust's 2017 Bath, Book and Bed campaign.

The scheme was set up to develop a regular nightly bedtime routine – which is associated with improved sleep in young children – while also inspiring a love of reading.

Activities in and around Keighley begin on Monday next week (April 24) with Bath Book Bed stay and play at Rainbow Children’s Centre from 9.30am to 11am.

Similar sessions take place on Tuesday at Strong Close Children’s Centre, Keighley, from 9.30am to 11.30am, Highfield Children’s Centre, Keighley, from 10am to 11.30am, Daisy Chain Children’s Centre, Silsden, from 9.30am to 11.30am and Low Fold Children’s Centre, Keighley, from  1.15pm to 2.45pm.

On Wednesday they will be offered at St Stephen's Church, Keighley, from 9.30am to 10.30am and Tree Tops, Haworth, from 10am to 11.30am.

Keighley Library will host a bedtime stories and hanging mobile craft activity at 11am on Wednesday.

On Thursday there will be Bath Book Bed stay and play at Keighley's Bangladeshi Community Centre from 1.15pm to 2.45pm and at Tree Tops, Haworth, from 10am to 11.30am.

Also on Thursday there is a Bath Book Bed Music and Rhyme activity at Daisy Chain Children's Centre, Silsden, from 2.15pm to 3pm.

Finally, two more stay and play events will be held in Keighley next Friday (April 28), one at Low Fold Children's Centre, from 9.15am to 10.45am and one at Rainbow Children's Centre, from 10am to 11.30am.
