FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire at the site of the former Hattersley’s factory in Keighley on Saturday evening.
They spent almost an hour putting out the burning grass on the derelict site of the demolished factory complex on Church Street.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called at around 6.40pm and sent one vehicle, with firefighters able to extinguish the flames by 7.30pm.
They reported that a patch of land 10 metres by five metres was ablaze in the early-evening sun.
The site, which used to house an engineering works, was several years ago earmarked for a Lidl Supermarket.
