INTERNATIONAL Workers Memorial Day will be marked on Friday (April 28) with gatherings outside Cliffe Castle Museum at 11am and in Keighley town hall square at noon.
Keighley Trades Union Council is keeping the same format as usual because 2017 is 10 years since the death of Keighley man Stephen Allen in a workplace accident.
Spokesman Dave Towers said: “Health and Safety is a human right to be protected at work, and stories of Health and Safety gone mad are misleading.
“Most most injuries are caused when workers try to be the ‘good worker’ and work in situations they know are wrong and should have been controlled by the employer.
“When things go wrong the employer then says ‘I never asked you to do that’.”
