CHARITIES in Silsden and Steeton are sharing £6,514 raised by customers of the Co-op supermarket in Silsden.
The store last week welcomed representatives from all three groups, Swimstart, Silsden Methodist Church and the 3rd Keighley Steeton and Silsden Scout group.
Andrea Brown , team manager at the Co-op in Silsden, said: “We had our celebration day and invited our charities along to share with customers and members how the money raised has been put to use.
“Every six months new community charities are chosen to receive the one per cent that members earn when buying Co-op products. Altogether since September to March £6,514 has been raised.
“Each charity will be receiving just over £2,000 which is beyond expectations.”
The store has now started a new round of fundraising, and the new beneficiaries will be St James’s Church in Silsden and the 1st St James Scout group.
