A CARE trust has achieved a golden hattrick.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, which operates the Centre for Mental Health at Airedale Hospital, has received an occupational health and safety gold award for the third year running.

The coveted accolade is from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Its scheme recognises organisations' commitment to preventing accidents and ill health.

Paul Challenger, the care trust's health and safety officer, said: "We are delighted to win our third consecutive gold achievement award as we continue to demonstrate improvements in excellence.

"Thanks go to all our staff, who diligently include health and safety as part of their daily lives, for their continued hard work and support in both maintaining and improving our high standards of compliance."

Julia Small, for RoSPA, praised the trust and other award winners.

"The awards are the most prestigious in occupational health and safety and are held in high regard around the world," she added.

"Achieving the standard required is no mean feat."
