ALL OR Nothing is the title of a new musical coming to the Alhambra Theatre with songs by the Small Faces.

Carol Harrison’s show opened to critical acclaim and nightly standing ovations at the Vaults Theatre in London in March last year and extended its sold-out run.

It is now on a UK tour, running at the Bradford theatre from May 18 to 20.

All Or Nothing sets out to tell the electrifying yet bittersweet tale of Kenney Jones, Ian McLagan, Ronnie Lane and Steve Marriott, who became 60s mod band the Small Faces.

The four charismatic young kids from East London succeeded with humour, attitude, passion and above all talent.

They were rocketed into the big time, only to discover the path to fantastic success is paved with exploitation, betrayal and ultimately tragedy.

Carol Harrison, who played Louise Raymond in Eastenders, said the show recreated the vivid underground vibe of the 1960s mod scene.

She said: “Our live band and cast tell the story of the rise and fall of the band, a journey as colourful as their sound, and get to showcase an amazing catalogue of music - hard-edged R&B.

“This is music which influenced a generation of musicians from Paul Weller and The Jam to Oasis, Blur, The Verve and The Arctic Monkeys, not to mention millions of fans.”

All Or Nothing features hits like Whatcha Gonna Do About It, Tin Soldier, Lazy Sunday, Here Comes the Nice, Itchycoo Park and of course All or Nothing.

Exploding to dingy British streets in 1964, the mod was the essence of all that was cool.

Mods stuck two fingers up at the class-ridden society and its dull redundant culture, with working-class free spirits riding streamlined Italian Vespas or Lambrettas.

The Small Faces encapsulated all that was Mod, a unique blend of taste and testosterone, neat, clothes obsessed, and streetwise, and a dedication to rhythm and blues.
