DEBORAH Bonham will be the guest when Paul Rodgers of Free goes on the road with his Free Spirit tour.

Deborah, whose mother was from Keighley, will perform at venues including Manchester and Sheffield this month as part of a national tour.

The BBC said Deborah and her band were “from and for the heart, soul and feet”, while Classic Rock magazine described them as “a powerful rock band steeped in the primal intimacy of the Blues”.

MetalTalk wrote: “Deborah is quite possibly the most vocally impressive, entertaining and awe-inspiring performer I’ve seen. The band’s visual presence is phenomenal.”

The band, which features musicians from Black Sabbath, sold out a show during London Blues Week in January at the legendary 100 Club and are a popular attraction at festivals around the world.

All of Deborah’s previous albums are being released in May 2017 through Cadiz Music, including The Old Hyde featuring Jason Bonham and Mick Fleetwood, Duchess featuring Free and Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers and Jerry Shirley, and Spirit featuring Robert Plant.

Deborah will be performing many of these songs live during a tour, along with several originally recorded in 1985 for her debut album For You And The Moon.

Meanwhile, the new album Looking Back At The Moon is a collection of the 1985-1991 sessions released for the first time on CD.

Another album, Spirit: The Complete Sessions Remastered, is a definitive version of her last studio album spirit.

On stage over the last few years Deborah has sung with Paul Rodgers, their performance at the Royal Albert Hall receiving a standing ovation.

Deborah Bonham will play the O2 Apollo in Manchester on Monday May 8 and City Hall in Sheffield on May 19.
