MOTORBIKE enthusiasts from all over the country have helped raise more than £600 for Manorlands.

Fans of the Honda Goldwing machine gathered in Keighley for Colin Appleyard’s annual Goldwing Day, which this year celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The event, which is widely accepted as the largest dealer-organised Goldwing meet up of the year, is an excuse for owners to once again dust off their machines and take to the road for another season.

Good spring weather attracted a record number of well over 300 owners to Keighley.

A member from every one of the country’s 35 Goldwing regions attended, including representatives from Kent, Devon & Cornwall and Scotland.

A spokesman for Colin Appleyard said: "One member, Peter Fisher from Dewsbury, has even attended every single event.

"As well as being a great social get together, it is an important day in the company's charitable fundraising calendar.

"This year the generosity of the riders helped organiser Barry Walton raise £633 for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, which is our company’s official charity partner."

Mr Walton said: “The day always proves popular, but this year was a fantastic success with everyone giving extremely generously to our chosen charity. "A particular thanks to the ladies for organising the charity teas and coffees and serving over 300 meals."
