EVENTS at a Cullingworth school to stimulate pupils' interest in books adopted a wizards and witches theme.
Parkside School hosted a "Harry Potter Booknight" to help inspire some of its younger pupils.
A spokesman for the school said: "The event was a great success. We had a total of 20 budding witches and wizards who made collages of Hogwarts professors, re-potted baby mandrakes during herbology lessons, read their tea-leaves during divination lessons and took part in a house quiz which Gryffindor won.
"World Book Day was celebrated at the school with a "Shelfie Competition".
"This involved staff taking photos of their bookshelves and students had to guess who the shelf belonged to."
Learning Resource Centre manager Lesley Watson said: "Millie Scott from year eight won a bag of books after getting 12 answers correct.
"The Learning Resource Centre also hosted a Big Book Quiz, in which six teams of four students took part answering five rounds of book related questions.
"Congratulations go to the "Supercalifragilistic Team" who won!"
