A HISTORIC connection between Cliffe Castle and the Worth Valley Railway will be revealed on Sunday May 7.
Former Keighley town mayor Graham Mitchell will reveal the story in his talk entitled Why Stanbury Never Got a Station and Other Local Railway Politics.
He will tell how the Butterfield family, who owned Cliffe Castle, influenced the route of the Worth Valley Railway to benefit their mills.
The free talk in Cliffe Castle Museum’s Education Room has been arranged jointly by the Friends of Cliffe Castle and Cliffe Castle Park Conservation Group.
People should arrive at 1.30pm for a 2pm start.
