KEIGHLEY people are being urged to put their best foot forward – and boost their health.

Charity Living Streets is encouraging people to walk for 20 minutes a day as part of National Walking Month, which begins tomorrow (May 1).

"Adding a 20-minute walk into your day is a small change but could make a big difference to your health and wellbeing," said spokesman Tompion Platt.

"You don't have to go out of your way to exercise – just walk part of your daily journey to work, the shops or school.

"Creating safe walking routes and encouraging more people to walk is vital if we're going to solve the inactivity crisis we are facing, protect the future of our health service and reduce dangerous levels of air pollution."

People are also being asked to rate their walk and anyone who participates will have the chance of winning a family city break.
