“THE BEST of Morrisons” is promised during a rebranding of the mini-market at a Cross Hills petrol station.
The supermarket giant has signed a deal with Rontec, which runs the store on Station Road, to provide stock.
A Morrisons spokesman said: “We are delighted to be providing the best of Morrisons at Rontec’s Cross Hills petrol station store.
"Morrisons Daily will introduce a new convenience store offer with a focus on fresh foods to the local community and we look forward to customers seeing the store’s new look when it opens in June.”
Qasim Mehmood, on behalf of the store, said the arrangements for fuel at the BP garage would remain the same as at present.
Morrisons and leading independent retailer Rontec announced last November that they would pilot convenience food in 10 petrol station shops.
The deal covered shops up to 3,000sq ft in size,, which would sell branded and Morrisons own-brand products, and followed trials at filling stations run by Motor Fuel Group.
At the same time, Morrisons decided to develop a range of hundreds of convenience products for wholesale to independent retailers, branded Safeway.
