A SPOT of breakfast prepared Glusburn children for their SATs this month.
Year six of Glusburn Community Primary Schoolwork were invited to a breakfast club every day during the week of the tests.
Head Richard Hunt said: “The club allowed the children to feel comfortable with friends and decrease fears and anxiety, creating a family togetherness.
“The local Cross Hills Coop provided the school with breakfast products such as tea, bread, jam and cereal. We are really grateful for their community support.
“We wished all our children well and are proud of them whatever the outcome of the tests; they are all talented in their own ways.”
SATs are the statutory national tests taken by primary-school-age children to assess their English, maths, spelling, grammar skills before moving to secondary school.
Similar tests for seven-year-olds look set to be scrapped following a government consultation, to be replaced by a baseline assessment for children as they start school.
