NINE-man Riddlesden were no match for Craven League Division One leaders Embsay.

The Grange Road hosts could only make 104-8, with Mohammed Arshad top scoring on 22 as Elliot Stockton took 3-37. Stockton followed up with 36 to go with Joe Holt’s 46no as the Shires Lane side romped home by eight wickets to inflict a fourth straight defeat on Riddlesden.

Second-placed Haworth dealt champions Crossflatts a chastening defeat at West Lane. The hosts posted 187 thanks to Dave Bainbridge (60), Jamie Rowell (35) and Peter Gower (30) as Joe Lynch (5-47) and Jim O’Hara (3-37) shone for Flatts.

Only Freddie Maddocks (36no) offered much resistance for the visitors as they slumped to 77 all out with Rowell (3-8) and Richard Ellis (3-17) doing most of the damage.

Third-placed Sutton recorded a sparkling victory over Hepworth and Idle at Royd Hill. The visitors scored 223-8 thanks to No 8 Dave Matthews (74no) and James Bentley (53), with Justin Holdsworth taking 3-37.

The hosts cruised home by eight wickets with Ryan Ridehalgh (129) putting on 124 for the first wicket with Dave Snowden (40) and 82 for the second with Sam Solley (33no).

Fourth-placed Bingley Congs were in good form on their trip to Oakworth. They dismissed the Cure Hill side for 126 with Joel Gallagher (36) the main contributor as Danny Pearson (4-14) and Adie Dibb (3-23) dominated with the ball.

In reply Sam Porter (64no) and Chris Dibb (50) set the platform for an eight-wicket win by putting on 102 for the second wicket.

Another side to turn in a cracking performance was Denholme, who walloped 234-2 at home to Haworth Road, with 18-year-old Matt Wear hitting a maiden century (102no). He figured in partnerships of 119 for the first wicket with Toby Priestley (70) and then 106 for the second wicket with Richard Taylor (47).

The Baildon Bottom side replied with 185, with Muhammad Zahid (47) top scoring as Jack Harrison (5-54) and Joe Greenwood (3-38) impressed with the ball.

Nadeem Safdar (58), Imran Zaman (34) and Omar Khatab (33) helped Ingrow St John’s to 206-7 at Barrowford. The Bull Holme side were then dismissed for 154 as Wasim Hussain took four wickets and Nadeem Zaman three.

Ingrow are the new Division Two leaders after their 48-run defeat of Ingrow St John’s II at Street Lane.

Dan Scott (45no) helped the Hainworth side to 159 as Ghulan Ghouse took 5-27. The Saints could only manage 111 in reply with Scott taking 4-13 and Jake Hoyle 3-19.

Previous leaders Haworth Road II slipped up at Airedale. Matthew Cox (49) was top scorer for the Bradford Road side as Ali Asguar (5-30) and Matthew Hall (3-50) did the business with the ball. The visitors were dismissed for 150 with Mohammed Qadeer Hanif taking 4-32 and Scott Richie 3-37.

At Glusburn, Oakworth II were in the doldrums as they succumbed for 62 in 23.4 overs, with only Jamie Lee (13) reaching double figures as Mark Pickles (6-31) and Bryan Hollis (4-28) bowled through. The Park Field side strode to a ten-wicket victory thanks to James Tillotson (34no) and Neil Freeman (24no).

At Long Lee the home side were knocked over for 109 as Mohammed Ishtiaq took 7-28. Visitors Sandy Lane got home by four wickets led by Asim Iqbal (48).

There was a nerve-wracking finish at Noyna as Foulridge made 133 against Wilsden (Rafaquat Mehmood 5-50). The visitors got home by one wicket thanks mainly to David Henson (63).

Cowling made a creditable 170-7 at home to Chatburn thanks to Sajid Shafait (52no) and Liam Walker (34). The visitors were staring defeat in the face at 126-8 before Tom Quinn (31no) and Steve Tandy (30no) took them over the line.
