THE BOY who designed a Sutton school’s leafy logo has returned as an adult to create an entire tree.
Samuel Broughton was a year six pupil when he won a competition to design a new logo for Sutton Community Primary School.
Head Fiona Beetles said Samuel was now “well and truly grown” and is a second-year student at the University of York.
She said: “During his Easter holiday Samuel came back to school and created the marvellous learning tree in our entrance hall.”
Both the logo, which shows three leaves, and the learning tree, epitomise the school’s motto of “where learners grow”.
The school’s vision states that it is an aspirational place, full of ambition and purpose, and committed to the value of each individual and the development of self-worth.
It adds: “Together we aim for excellent progress and high attainment in knowledge, understanding and skills.”
