KEIGHLEY blues fans will donate cash from their next concert to help victims of the Manchester terrorist attack.

Proceeds will be given from the gig on June 16 by top bluesmen Dave Kelly and Brooks Williams at the Octagon in Sandbeds.

The concert, organised by Keighley Blues Live, will be dedicated to people affected by last week’s bombing at Manchester Arena.

A club spokesman said: “After any unavoidable expenses have been met, all money generated by ticket sales for the gig plus takings from the raffle will be donated to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund in partnership with the British Red Cross.

“In order to raise as much money as possible we've got to shift 300 tickets.”

Visit keighleyblueslive.co.uk or the venue in Bradford Road to buy advance tickets, which cost £13 each.

PEOPLE wanting to support an appeal set-up to help the families of those killed and injured in the Manchester terrorist attack can now give donations through a building society's Keighley, Silsden and Cross Hills branches.

Twenty-two people were killed and more than 50 injured in last week's suicide bomb attack at the Manchester Arena.

Contributions to the Red Cross Manchester Emergency Appeal can be made over the counter at Skipton Building Society branches, or by calling its Skipton Direct team on 0345 850 1722.

Stacey Stothard, for the society, said: "We have branches in and around the Manchester area and cannot begin to imagine what people are going through.

"In addition to donating money ourselves, we want to help make it a bit easier for anyone else wishing to support this appeal to give money too."

Students and staff at Holy Family School in Keighley observed the national minutes’ silence last Thursday for victims of the Manchester bombing, despite 11am falling within morning break.
