SILSDEN Town Band will give a performance on Saturday, June 10 at Oakworth Methodist Church.
The presentation of brass band music will begin at 7.30pm and will raise money for the church’s Mission Possible fund.
The fund aims to raise enough cash to extend the church to provide much-needed extra meeting space, storage and permanent theatre facilities.
Church volunteers spend many hours every year transforming the church into a traditional theatre with a proscenium arch for the popular children’s pantomime, and the church also hosts three productions a year for KYDZ Keighley Youth Theatre.
The Mission Possible expansion will enable the church to become a theatre more quickly, with a collapsible stage, ‘wings’ and better changing facilities.
Silsden Town Band is led by Gordon Eddison, a veteran of the Hammonds Sauce Works Bands who started playing bass aged 11 in the Junior Band.
Gordon started conducting in his twenties with the Hammonds Junior Band.
Visit oakworthmethodists.org or call 01535 642610 or 215784 to book tickets, which cost £6, including tea and biscuits.
