SILSDEN is gearing-up for a fun-packed summer.
The town's seasonal celebrations opened with success at Skipton Gala, when the float carrying Silsden Gala Queen Maisie Manley, seven – with king Charlie Clarkson, also seven, and five-year-old rosebud Mia Bates – won first prize in its section.
A Silsden Park fun day takes place on July 1.
There will be a chance for visitors to try bowls and tennis and other attractions will include a cycling event, Punch and Judy, a dog show, performances from Silsden Town Band and stalls.
Silsden Juniors football teams will hold matches and there will be running races for all age groups.
A German evening is being held at St James' Church Hall on July 8 and Silsden Singers will entertain at the town hall on July 15.
Other events will include a duck race and a rugby tournament and Silsden Youth Centre is planning something for July 22.
And on July 30 it's Silsden Gala and parade, with a Marshall's funfair, stalls and arena events.
