THE TOXIC trio helped Glusburn Community Primary School win the South Craven Rounders Festival.

The three pupils and the year six teammates powered through matches against Hothfield, Cononley and Lothersdale primary schools.

A school spokesman said: “Not only did they win each of these matches, they managed to get each team out before the final whistle blow.

“This was down to the amazing skills of the 'toxic trio', Matthew Boast on backstop, Lili Cox on first base and Izzy-mai Foster as bowler."

“The team, led by captains Matthew Boast and Stan Lloyd, took on Cowling in the semi-final, then Kildwick in the final.

“The team were well organised in the field and demonstrated excellent fielding skills with some incredible catches from Lilli Cox and Stan Lloyd.

"Matthew Boast and Noah Smith also gave an amazing batting performance sending the ball soaring across the field, allowing them to get several rounders for the team.”
