MEMBERS of the Steeton-based Girder Fork and Classic Motorcycle Club steered a course for the Yorkshire Dales on Sunday.

They joined the 47th Beamish Safety and Reliability Run at Bainbridge, where it stopped for lunch.

The run starts and finishes at Beamish and follows a 150-mile route around County Durham and North Yorkshire.

Girder Fork member Alan Ralph, on his 350cc Triumph, was awarded the Founders Day Trophy.

The club is making final preparations for its annual show, at Skipton Auction Mart on Sunday (June 25).

The event, which starts at noon, is for all two and three-wheeled vehicles.

At last year's show, more than 100 bikes and trikes were on display and £4,800 was raised for charity.

"It is hoped that the figure will be exceeded this year," said a club spokesman.

Entry is £3, with accompanied under-16s admitted free.
