STAFF and patients from a pulmonary rehabilitation service are marking a special week.
Members of the Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven scheme are celebrating awareness-raising National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week, which runs until Saturday (June 24).
The service is aimed at patients with chronic lung disease who are limited by breathlessness, coughing and tiredness.
There are exercise classes, education sessions and group discussions covering a range of issues related to lung health.
Also, pulmonary rehabilitation classes take place at several venues, including Keighley Leisure Centre.
Helen Goulding, Airedale pulmonary rehabilitation team leader, said: "Patients who sign-up for the pulmonary rehabilitation course benefit hugely from this service.
"They tell us they can walk further and faster, and feel stronger and less tired, as a result."
Patients can be referred by any healthcare professional, including their GP or practice nurse.
Alternatively, call 01535 295085.
