SINGLE File have confirmed the details for their free-entry comeback gig after 25 years away.

The trio, one of Keighley’s most popular bands in the 1980s, will perform at the Cock & Bottle in Skipton on July 8 at 3pm.

Bassist Martin Keighley said “The large beer garden is a great venue for live music and we really can’t wait to get playing again.”

The band have been rehearsing since the beginning of the year and will play most of their old favourites.

Drummer Roger Kirby said: “Exactly which songs to play meant some difficult choices. Over the years we’d built up a repertoire over around 250 songs so we’ve had to be pretty ruthless.”

Album favourites such as Severn Winds, Valentine’s Day, Anything and Sometimes I Wonder are included in the set plus covers from Undertones, The Jam, The Who and The Buzzcocks.

The band are also remastering their past studio work and hope to have something available for the Cock & Bottle gig.

Roger added: “We’ve got dozens of analogue reel-to-reel masters covering many years. We reckon there’s about 50 hours’ worth altogether.”

Guitar player Mike Westhead said news of the gig had sparked considerable interest especially on social media.
