GLUSBURN schoolchildren have visited a nearby sheltered housing complex to support National Carers Week.
The choir from Glusburn Community Primary School sang for residents of the Townend complex run by Anchor Housing.
School head Richard Hunt said: “Amongst the songs performed, the choir sung With a Little Help From My Friends in recognition of how together we can support each other, young and old.
“The choir also had the pleasure of singing to Walter Evans, who at 95 was supporting our children in class every day until his recent move to Townend.”
National Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges carers face and recognising the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to organise activities and events throughout the UK, drawing attention to just how important caring is.
