A HOLIDAY home business opened on the outskirts of Keighley nearly three years ago is expanding.

The first phase of the Cragg Hill Holiday lets venture was opened by husband and wife team Stuart and Jo Currie in August 2014.

The business, which is based at what used to be Lower Kirkstall Wood Farm, off Woodhouse Road, began with one three-bed cottage.

In January 2015 the Currie's opened up a separate, one bedroom unit on the same hillside site.

They have now launched a third cottage, which like their first, offers three bedrooms.

Mr Currie, who is originally from Bracken Bank, has lived in Keighley all his life. His wife is originally from Riddlesden. The couple now live at their business premises in Woodhouse Road.

Mr Currie said neither of them anticipated how popular the holiday lets would be when they first started the enterprise.

"Originally we were going to use these buildings as workshop or storage units," he explained.

"But we thought we'd just give it a try as holiday lets instead, and we've been overwhelmed by how much it has taken off. We're already taking bookings for 2018.

"People really appreciate how close we are to all the amenities of the town centre, even though up here it feels like we're a world away.

"We've had guests coming back repeatedly, and people stay here for events like Haworth 1940s Weekend or even a sewing convention in Skipton."
