THE Yorkshire Classic Motorcycle Club is revving up for its 17th annual bike show, due to take place in Haworth this month.

The event will be staged at The Bronte Hotel, in Lees Lane, on the evening of Wednesday July 19 with proceeds to go to both Manorlands Hospice and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Entrants can begin arriving from 5pm onwards and the show starts at 7pm. The entry fee is £3.

Club chairman Ian Livingstone said: "After a record breaking show in 2016 and other events through the year, we were pleased to give £2,000 in support of Manorlands and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

"Last year club committee members were asked to judge each class and this proved very successful, with John Wood with his 1925 Flat tank BSA, winning Best in Show.

"With classes for all bikes from Girder Fork, Ex Military and British Competition to 1970, British and Foreign Classics, Scooters and Mopeds to 1980, up to today’s Reproduction and Customised machines, there'll be something of interest for everyone this year.

"For 2017 we're extending charitable events in recognition of our long-serving member David Emmott, who sadly died earlier in the year.

"As our treasurer for many years, and an irreplaceable member of the club, a Memorial trial will be run in his name with all proceeds going to The Cellar Trust, in Shipley.

"The show will include a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses and club members, and a stall of 'autojumble'.

"Gary Bailey at the Bronte will be looking after the food and drink.

"As the popularity of the show increases every year, the police have requested that congestion is minimised on Lees Lane, and have asked visitors to use the side roads as much as possible. Signage will be in place to assist."
