COUNCILLORS in Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury were told that an emergency plan for their parish is nearing completion.
Work on the project began several months after severe flooding in December 2015 inflicted severe damage to the Mill Hey part of Haworth.
Councillor Peter Clarke told fellow members of Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council that a final draft of the plan was close to being finished.
"We're waiting on the Environment Agency to send us updated maps for flooding areas," he added.
"We'd like the council to adopt this plan subject to final amendments being made."
Council chairman Cllr Gary Swallow said he understood the parish council has a portable pump to be deployed in the event of flooding.
After being updated on the pump's current place of storage he emphasised the importance of maintaining easy access to the device, if it is needed in a hurry in future.
He asked for the emergency plan to be presented to the council's next environment committee meeting.
