KEIGHLEY waste plant objectors have cooked up a new way to raise cash for their campaign.
The Aire Valley Against Incineration group (AVAI) have released a book full of recipes donated by members and supporters.
The cover features specially-created artwork based around a medieval image similar to the Bayeux Tapestry.
Middle Ages rioters march under the proclamation “Great protest against foul incinerator – don’t burn your cakes”.
The paperback volume is being sold at the group’s fundraising and awareness-raising stalls at local events such as galas.
It is also available at the AVAI’s presence at the Homebase car park, Crossflatts, each Saturday from 9.30pm to 10.30pm.
AVAI will hold a jumble and bric-a-brac sale on Saturday July 22 from 11am to 3pm at East St Arts, in the Sunwin House on Hanover Street, Keighley. There will be a cafe.
Two local artists will run a free drop-in environmental art workshop, and people’s artworks will be exhibited in the autumn.
