A KEIGHLEY teenager hoped to bounce into love on the revival of hit TV show Blind Date.

Former Holy Family School student Amy Tough appeared on the show last Saturday and had to choose her favourite from three young men hidden behind a screen.

She and beau Dominic Evans went trampolining in the south of England – and they both return this weekend to tell viewers how their first date went.

Amy, 18, this week hinted to the Keighley News that the date proved a success because both she and Dominic loved the idea of an activity-packed experience rather than simply sitting down for a meal.

She said: “We’re quite similar in our personalities, we were like two naughty people running around the trampoline park!”

Blind Date, which is now shown on Channel 5, is presented by Paul O’Grady who was a long-time friend of original host Cilla Black.

Amy signed up for Blind Date not only to have some fun and find romance, but to see at first hand how a TV show is produced.

Once she receives her A-level results in August she hopes to begin a broadcast media course at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Amy said: “I wanted to see it from the other side. I didn’t have a clue what to expect, I’ve never been on TV it is really fun – a posh dressing room and wine, and they bought me a pizza.

“I was really nervous so I had quite a few glasses of wine. Paul O’Grady is hilarious, he was so lovely and calmed my nerves.”

Amy said she definitely picked the right man, and she and Dominic talked for a while after the show in readiness for their trampolining date a fortnight later.

Amy said: “I had been watching past episodes with Cilla Black and contestants were going on holidays abroad, then I heard that I was going trampolining.

“That was okay because I’m an active person. We ended up having cocktails and we had so much fun we asked for a cab to go to London.

“We’ve tried to arrange to meet up since, and I hope to see him in the future.”

Although she is never been on TV, Amy was a Sunbeam singer and dancer for three years in the Bradford Alhambra pantomime alongside stars like Billy Pearce, Hayley Tammadon and Gaynor Faye.

She was accompanied to the studios for her first episode with father Ivan, but made the subsequent journeys alone.
