HORSFORTH are chasing a sixth successive Aire-Wharfe League win tomorrow – with Burley and Otley cheering them on as they seek to dent Division One leaders Beckwithshaw's march towards the title.

Having started the campaign with a win over Ilkley, Horsforth found themselves unable to escape the basement as they struggled without another victory until round nine.

Since then, with Queenslander Corey Barsby starting to show his best form, they have clawed their way out of trouble and will relish the chance of tackling Beckwithshaw, whose aura of invincibility was shattered by Pool last week.

The leaders are still 18 points clear of Burley, who are now only three points clear of Otley after the two sides had contrasting fortunes over the last two weeks.

Otley comfortably won the clash between the pair and went on, as expected, to beat struggling Colton.

Burley suffered a further setback with a last-over defeat by North Leeds, followed by a semi-final exit from the Waddilove Cup.

They should get their challenge back on track against relegation-threatened Collingham this weekend and Otley will start favourites against Bilton but will be wary of Kiel van Vollenhoven, who took 5-27 when Bilton won their encounter earlier in the season.

Bilton are ninth in the standings – the bottom side in a mid-table logjam covered by just nine points to fourth-placed Pool – so there are places, if not titles, to scrap for as Pool travel to Guiseley and Rawdon entertain Ilkley.

Skipton raised hopes of escaping the drop from Division Two with last week's win over Steeton inspired by Iqbal Khan, who followed up a top score of 64 with 4-57, but it will be a major shock if they take more than some bonus points from leaders Adel.

There is a titanic clash at Hall Park, where Addingham are the visitors. Separated by just seven points, both sides are too close for comfort to the relegation zone but the duo were buoyed by victories last week.

Addingham will hope for a repeat of their eight-wicket win when the sides met earlier, with Ricky Palacio taking 6-41, but Hall Park are a much improved side since then.

With their promotion challenge suffering a setback against Kirkstall last week, Ben Rhydding need to get back on track against Calverley, whose form varies from week to week.

Tong Park Esholt and Steeton have tricky but winnable games against Follifoot and Kirkstall respectively, while rock-bottom Thackley – 61 points away from safety – know that every game, starting at Leeds Modernians, is a must-win.

Third-placed Green Lane entertain Division Three leaders Olicanian, seeking to reduce the 32-point gap between them and no doubt recalling how Philip Atkinson (96no) and Azhar Mahmood – who followed up 65 with a 6-53 spell – led them to a five-wicket win when they met earlier in the season.

Second-placed Saltaire should be too strong for fellow league newcomers St Chads Broomfield, while Bolton Villas' attack will test Harden and Menston face a tricky match against a Bardsey side still convinced they can be in the promotion mix despite going down to Villas last week.
