GERMAN accordion players will join a top South Craven orchestra for a joint concert on August 19.

Craven Accordion Orchestra will welcome Orchester Musika Akkordia from Berlin for the performance at Skipton Town Hall.

The award-winning Craven group, based in Cross Hills, was formed in 1995.

During the 8pm concert the two orchestras will play individual items from their repertoires as well as joining together under musical director Bob Nevin.

Orchestra founder Harry Hinchliffe said the concert would be yet another landmark for the Craven Accordion Orchestra.

He said: “It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance for this unique event

“The Craven Accordion Orchestra has participated in many events such as local music festivals, concerts entertaining the local community, as well as further afield in the Lake District, events in Northern Ireland and Scotland, gaining UK Championship status on many occasions – and the list goes on.”
