A BY-election will be held to fill a vacant seat on Keighley Town Council.
The seat for Guardhouse ward has been vacant since the then deputy town mayor Councillor Ian Dermondy announced his resignation in June.
Since then a spokesman for the town council has said: "Bradford City Council's Electoral Services department has confirmed that a petition has been received for an election to be held for the Guardhouse town councillor vacancy.
"Further information will be posted once a date is set for the election to be held."
In cases where no by-election is asked for, the council would recruit a new member via a co-option process.
But a by-election must be held when 10 or more electors from the ward involved ask for this.
Where there is a petition for a by-election election but only one person comes forward for the seat they will automatically be elected, as long as they are eligible to be a councillor.
