The Royd Hill side were then swept aside for 117, with Joe Lynch spinning his way to 7-24 as Dave Snowden top-scored with 40.

Second-placed Embsay also had a dismal day at the office as they went down by 97 runs at Haworth Road.

The Baildon Bottom side made 227-7, with Chris Griggs scoring a superb 104 not out and Zahir Abbas 47 as Haroon Ali took 3-49.

Aftab Khan (4-32) and Abbas (4-37) helped to dismiss the Shires Laners for 117, of which Arslam Hussain made 51.

Ingrow St John’s jump back into second after a nine-wicket victory over Haworth at West Lane. Pete Gower (50no) carried his bat as the Bronte side made 108-9 in 45 overs, with Wasim Hussain taking 5-29.

Nadeem Safdar made 63 not out as the Saints galloped home in just 14.4 overs.

Oakworth are putting together a timely run.

They entertained Denholme and had them back in the hut for 111, with four run outs not helping the cause as Joe Copperwaite took 4-33.

Drew Duffey (33) was the main contributor as the Cure Hill side replied with 117-4 in 21 overs.

The battle between the bottom two, Barrowford and Hepworth & Idle, at Bull Holme went the way of the hosts by seven wickets.

In the reply, Mark Day (38), Shahbaz Ahmed (36) and Craig Pullen (30) were the only batsmen in double figures as the Golden View side were dismissed for 135.

Second-placed Wilsden were at Ingrow St John’s II and scraped home by two wickets.

Saints skipper Sarum Qureshi made 29 of their 127 as Rafaquat Mehmood (5-36) and Sam Mitchell (3-33) got among the wickets.

It was skipper Dave Henson, whose 89-ball 45 not out got the Windy Grove side over the line, despite Qureshi’s 5-20.

For the second week running, Oakworth II won the toss and then chased leather.

They were at Airedale and watched them crash their way to 241-8.

Chris Gill (73) and Warren Coppack (37) put on 99 for the fifth wicket, while Scott Ritchie (52) and Mick Feather (33) also made useful runs.

Paul Carter top-scored for the Cure Hill side, who closed on 136 as Gill rounded off a good afternoon by taking 5-20.

Second-from-bottom Sandy Lane posted 172 at Park Field, with Rana Abbas (33) top-scoring as Steve Brown (4-51) and Bryan Hollis (3-51) were in the wickets.

Glusburn scrambled over the line by two wickets in the 40th over.

James Tillotson made 71 and Ian Simons 32 not out as Hasnat Bukhari claimed 4-30.

Cononley still have a one-point lead over Gargrave at the top of Division Three.

At Sandy Lane II, the hosts were all at sea, being dismissed for 68 by Bradley for whom Andy Holmes (4-28) and Harry McEneaney (3-17) did most of the damage.

Division Four B leaders Silsden were denied any action by the weather as the overnight rain had left Cononley II's ground unplayable.

Seasoned campaigner Alan Coney made 55 of Glusburn II's 115-6 at Penistone Hill.

Oakworth III replied with 103-9 as under-13 player Lewis Brown made 27 and Khaleeq Ahmed 26.

Gargrave II slumped to a paltry 55 at Wilsden II, with Paul Kirby (6-11) and Mudassar Riaz (3-27) doing the damage as the Windy Grove side galloped home by eight wickets.

There was an exciting finish at Bradley II, where Long Lee II failed by two runs.

The Matthew Lane side made 151, with Josh Nkwo top-scoring with 44 as Neil Kennedy took 3-18 and Matt Mounsey 3-38.

In reply, Phil Atkinson (59) and Steve Tempest (32) got Long Lee II off to a good start with 98 for the first wicket.

However, they were then pipped by a short head, with Thomas Eaglesfield taking 3-23.
