WITH the final round of matches taking place tomorrow night, it is all to play for in both divisions of the Bradford & District Evening League.

In Division One, Ciroc, the Adil Rashid Cricket Academy and defending champions Salem Athletic are fighting it out, not only for the championship but also for the two places available at the end-of-season finals day play-offs.

Ciroc still top the standings, despite their match being abandoned last week due to the weather against Shelf with the game finely balanced.

Shelf had made 110-8 (Asad Shah 45, Kez Ahmed 4-22), and Ciroc were 59-2 with nine overs remaining.

Third-placed Salem Athletic kept up the pressure on the top two with an 11-run victory against second-placed Adil Rashid Cricket Academy at East Bierley.

The visitors were indebted to Mohammed Waqas (51no) as they set the Academy a modest 115-7 from their 16 overs, with Adam Ahmed taking 3-9.

Despite being 80-3 at one stage, thanks largely to opener Imran Arif (37), the Academy lost their momentum, ending on 104-6.

At the other end of the table, Denholme secured their place in the top flight for next season with a five-wicket win at home to Greenfield, which condemned their opponents to relegation.

The Denholme bowlers were in a miserly mood as they restricted their visitors to 99-5 from 16 overs, with opener Adeel Ahmed top-scoring with 22.

Skipper Richard Wear continued his good form with 27 to guide Denholme to victory on 102-5 with two overs to spare.

In Division Two, things are even tighter, with four clubs still in the mix for the season’s honours.

Hepworth & Idle top the table and have already secured their finals day place but they could still be caught for the championship by John Breare.

However, if second-placed Breare lose this week, they could end up with nothing as Crossflatts or Great Horton Park Chapel could steal the final play-off spot from them.

Hepworth & Idle maintained the leadership with an eight-wicket victory over basement side Cross Roads & Daisy Hill.

All-rounder Kevin McDermott was again the star of the show as he firstly  took 5-11 to restrict the Windhill outfit to 89-9 (Alex Antoine 36) and then top-scored with 30 as the home side cruised to 92-2 with six overs to spare.

John Breare retained second spot by setting Cambing 129-8 (Tom Westerman 41, Asad Khan 3-22, Hubab Ali 3-24) and then restricting their hosts to 107-9 (Asad Khan 23, Jordan Moore 3-24).

Great Horton Park Chapel set up the exciting finish to the season by winning at their Ewart Street ground against third-placed Crossflatts.

Azhar Mahood (49) was the mainstay of Flatts’ 114-6 from 16 overs, but they will have been disappointed with this total after having 41 on the board off the first five overs.

Park Chapel’s reply didn’t start well as they lost the early wickets of their most consistent batters Ben Burkill and Nicolas Flood, but a quickfire 27 from Waqar Ilyas in 19 balls got them back on track.

Then a 42 off 22 balls by Chris Brown and 20 not out off 15 balls by Micky Hutchins eased them past their target with five wickets and two overs to spare as Wasim Hussain took 3-22.

The highest scores, and the surprise of the day, came at Bradshaw, where the Halifax outfit ended free-scoring Raja’s pursuit of a play-off spot.

An opening partnership of 85 between Mohammed Altaf (who returned to end on 59) and Raja Wahid (25) was the cornerstone of Raja’s 154 all out from just 15.4 overs as Jack Ryan grabbed 3-6.

Undaunted by such a big total, the home side threw caution to the wind as Piers Fisher (40no), Connor Ryan (40) and Matthew Crowther (27) saw Bradshaw home on 155-4 with just two balls to spare.

Tomorrow's final games are - Division One: Salem Athletic v Denholme, Shelf v Adil Rashid Cricket Academy, Thornton v Ciroc. Division Two: Cross Roads & Daisy Hill v Bradshaw, Great Horton Park Chapel v Hepworth & Idle, John Breare v Crossflatts, Raja’s v Cambing (at Cambing).
