PRIZE-winning lambs from an Oakworth farm were bought by an Ingrow-based butcher as part of his efforts to support Keighley district farmers.
The four lambs were farmed and shown by J Collier and Sons, of Denby Hill Farm, and appeared at this year’s Yorkshire Show, in Harrogate last month. (July)
They were bought by Chris Herd, who runs C&L Herd Butchers in Queen’s Road with his wife Linda.
Mr Herd, who also bought prize-winning livestock from these same farmers last year, said: “I can’t normally attend the show because I’m busy working, but I do know a lot of the people who exhibit there.
“I feel it’s really important to look after our local farmers and to support our local economy.
“We buy as much lamb, beef and pork from this area as we can, and we also have our own farm in Oxenhope.”
