THERE is no doubting that Division Three is the most competitive of the three Aire-Wharfe League sections this season, with five clubs still believing they can go up.

Tomorrow sees top two Saltaire and Olicanian go head to head determined to get into pole position for the promotion run-in.

Olicanian have looked to be favourites for most of the season, with skipper Harry Smallwood and brother Tom leading the way.

Yet Green Lane, currently in third spot, will have encouraged the rest when they completed the double over them last week.

Saltaire took full advantage of their rivals' defeat to go back on top – and with all-rounder Hammad ul Hassan always likely to swing a match their way, the Roberts Park outfit are capable of achieving promotion in their first year in the league.

Tomorrow is a big test for them. They came out second-best when the sides met earlier in the season, with Tom Smallwood (84no) and Sajad Ijaz (4-40) starring as Olicanian won by 31 runs.

Green Lane sit out this weekend, while the two sides just below them, Bardsey and Harden, scrap it out knowing that defeat will probably end their outside chance of getting into the top two.

Menston should be too strong for Alwoodley and Bolton Villas can put some distance between themselves and New Rover but will need to improve on last week's display, when they were bowled out for 103 by Harden.

It will come as a massive shock in Division One if Beckwithshaw do not go on to be crowned champions and Colton and Collingham get relegated.

Burley have the best chance of catching Beckwithshaw and should keep on track at faltering Pool, while hoping Ilkley can at least prevent the leaders taking full points.

Third-placed Otley's hopes were dashed when they lost to Bilton last week but they will keep battling on, starting at North Leeds, and hoping the two above them hit a barren patch.

Rawdon travel to Bilton for a mid-table scrap but one of the most entertaining matches should be at Horsforth, where Guiseley are the visitors and hoping to repeat the big win they enjoyed when the sides met in May.

There is plenty at stake in the Division Two clash at Addingham, where Ben Rhydding are the visitors.

Addingham need points to keep them out of reach of the bottom two, while Ben Rhydding are not only trying to close the gap on leaders Adel but also keep well clear of third-placed Tong Park Esholt.

Adel entertain Leeds Modernians, one of only two sides to beat them in the league this season, while Tong Park Esholt face Hall Park, who were surprise winners when they met earlier despite a 5-39 spell from Mohammad Khan.

Steeton will start as hot favourites against out-of-form Calverley, while it is hard to see bottom two Skipton and Thackley gaining any relief against Kirkstall and Follifoot.
