PARKSIDE School students are well fed thanks to the school’s Parents Association.

The volunteer parents have donated cash from their fundraising events for a host of food-related activities across the Cullingworth school.

This included new pans for Food Tech, breakfasts for year seven students improving their reading, and doughnuts for children taking part in numeracy and literacy tasks.

They provided ingredients and prizes for a Comic Relief Bake-off, and prizes for the Modern Languages department’s Ready Steady Cook tournament involving Spanish and French dishes.

The Parents Association also provided water and fruit for year 11 students before their exams and funded a Healthy Eating week for the food technology department.

The Parkside Parents Association regularly donate to the Student Reward Scheme.

Funding also went on calculators for the science department, house trophies for PE and the inter-form quiz, prom tickets for maths and English prizewinners, and new drumsticks for the music department.

The association also plans to buy banjos and mandolins for the students.
