KEIGHLEY'S Sea and Royal Marines cadet corps has enjoyed a wave of successes.

Able Cadet Callum Wilson, who has been in the unit four years, passed the promotions board and is now Leading Cadet.

And Chief Petty Officer Matthew Hall has received his kayaking Level 2 coaching qualification.

"Funding to complete the qualification was provided by Keighley Community Fund and we would like to say a big 'thank you' – this means we will be able to open-up many more kayaking opportunities to our cadets," said a corps spokesman.

Members have taken part in a range of activities this summer.

They tackled a sponsored swim, at Tong, together covering more than 23 miles and raising over £550 for unit funds.

The corps also had a stall at the Keighley Armed Forces Day.

New members, cadets and staff, are welcome.

Young people aged ten to 18 are catered for.
