A STANBURY resident who has returned to home territory after a long absence has organised a music concert for the village’s Scar Top Chapel.

The event, arranged by Alan Holmes, will be held at the chapel at 7.30pm on Saturday September 2.

On the line-up is Mr Holmes himself, who sings and plays the guitar and mandolin.

Also performing will be Andy Clayton, Peter Hobson and Jeff Stewart.

Mr Holmes explained that he has a personal connection to this church, as he attended its Sunday School 60 years ago.

He has been living in Stanbury for 15 months after spending 15 years in the Lake District.

Mr Holmes said the concert would feature a mix of country, Irish, pop and folk music.

Doors open at Scar Top Chapel at 7pm on September 2, with the music beginning at 7.30pm.

£5 tickets can be bought in advance by calling 01535 642915 or will also be available on the door.

Proceeds will go towards the running costs of the church.
