BASED on the classic children’s novel, The Tiger Who Came To Tea, pounces onto stage at Halifax’s Victoria Theatre next month.
Following a successful West End run, this enchanting family adventure is packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos.
The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down for tea, and what they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger! When Sophie and her mummy welcome the hungry Tiger to tea, he proceeds to eat all the sandwiches, buns, biscuits and more.
This stunning adaptation of the classic tale by Judith Kerr of teatime mayhem is interactive fun for those aged three and older.
The production has been adapted and directed by David Wood, who is the country’s leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children.
His many successes include: Spot’s Birthday Party, eight Roald Dahl adaptations, including West End hits The BFG, The Witches and George’s Marvellous Medicine, and Goodnight Mister Tom – the Olivier Award-winner 2013 for Best Entertainment and Family.
The Tiger Who Came to Tea will be performed at 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday September 2, and at 11am and 2pm on Sunday September 3.
Tickets for the show are available for £13.50 with group and family tickets available.
