KEIGHLEY MP John Grogan has added his signature to a giant card produced to celebrate the 80th birthday of David Hockney.
Mr Grogan visited Cartwright Hall in Bradford to sign the card, which was made by Hallmark.
It is hoped to gather 22,000 signatures and set a new world record.
The card was at the historic hall's David Hockney Gallery, which opened last month in tribute to the Bradford-born artist.
Signatures can also be added online, at goo.gl/HFiD92.
Mr Grogan said: "Rather than sign online, I wanted to go in person to Cartwright Hall where David Hockney was inspired to be interested in art as a boy.
"My own late father grew-up in Manningham and the hall – and Lister Park in which it stands – have long been a key part of the life of Bradford.
"One of the good results of the celebrations for David Hockney's 80th birthday has been to remind people of what we have on our own doorstep.
"This has resulted in visitor numbers to the hall increasing by no less than two-and-a-half times."
